Advertising has a lot to be grateful for on Reopening Day

Really, thank you Science!

It’s Freedom or Reopening Day in California today 🥳, and the advertising industry has a lot to be grateful 🙏for as the US largest state, and one of the largest economies reopens after 15 months! 🍾

1. 2021 US advertising forecast is now $240B, helped by a stronger economic outlook, supported by the new stimulus package, well-pacing COVID decline, and a return to normal sports events. The Industry survived and thrived. (Magna)

2. NYC, LA, San Francisco are fully opening on the same day today, driving optimism throughout the advertising world which is largely driven in mega-cities (NYC = agencies, LA = content, SF = tech)

3. The largest advertising event every four (5) years, the Olympics are still scheduled to happen in July. While the 2020 EUROs are happening now. A confluence of big events is a big boost for advertising.

4. IPOs of advertising companies have gone remarkably well and are holding value thus far in 2021 (PUB, DSP, APP).

5. The seismic shift in attention to e-commerce, connected TV, and mobile gaming screens means the advertising model that powers these gigantic growth industries has found its future, its new vine to swing on.
